CLEVELAND -- After 475 pitches, 20 runs and more than five hours of baseball, the Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers settled this lengthy game in a most bizarre fashion: a walkoff balk. Al Alburquerques bases-loaded balk in the 13th inning Wednesday gave the Indians an 11-10 victory over Detroit. "I dont even know where to start with that game," Indians right-fielder David Murphy said. "I dont know if that was a baseball game or a marathon combined with a circus." Murphy tied the game that took 5 hours, 16 minutes in the ninth with a two-run homer off Joe Nathan Alex Avilas two-out homer in the top of the 13th put Detroit ahead, but the Indians scored twice for their second walkoff win in the three-game sweep. Mike Aviles led off with a single against Phil Coke (0-1) and took second on Michael Bourns sacrifice. After Asdrubal Cabrera was hit by a pitch, Michael Brantley lined a single to left for his fourth hit that scored Aviles, who slid home before Rajai Davis throw. After a groundout, Alburquerque relieved and pinch-hitter Yan Gomes was walked intentionally to load the bases. Ryan Raburn took the first pitch for a ball. As Alburquerque went into his set position, he appeared to move his leg and glove and then stopped. Indians manager Terry Francona couldnt remember a game ending on a balk, but he knew Alburquerque committed one. "It was definitely a balk," he said. "If they hadnt have called it we would have went out there and argued." The Tigers put up no argument. "He just went to come set and he stopped and it was pretty blatant," Avila said. "There wasnt any controversy about that one." According to STATS, the game-ending balk is the first since July 4, 2011, when the Royals Aaron Crow committed one in the ninth inning against the White Sox. Its also the first walkoff balk in extra innings since June 16, 2011, when the Mets D.J. Carrasco did it against the Braves. Josh Tomlin (3-1), the Indians ninth pitcher, worked the final three innings. Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera and manager Brad Ausmus were ejected in the sixth inning by plate umpire Tim Timmons for arguing balls and strikes. Raburn raised his arms in victory after the balk was called and the Indians rushed from the dugout to mob Cabrera at the plate. Cabrera had been hit on the knee by Cokes pitcher and spent several moments on the ground before going to first. The Indians bid to win in the 10th ended when Davis throw to the plate got Lonnie Chisenhall, who was trying to score on Bourns flyball. Zach McAllister allowed four runs in the first and didnt retire a batter in the third. Having already used seven relievers, Francona had no choice but to call on Tomlin in the 11th even though the right-hander was scheduled to start Thursday in Baltimore. Asked how long Tomlin would have pitched, Francona said, "Till we won or lost. There was nobody else." "I dont know if Ive ever done that before, but I was ready," Tomlin. "They asked me about the 10th inning if I could pitch, so I ran and got my spikes." A roster move to add Thursdays starter will be made before that game. Max Scherzer allowed seven runs in seven innings. He gave up one run in the first, five in the second and another in the third, but blanked the Indians over his final four innings of work. The right-hander gave up 12 hits and threw 113 pitches. Scherzer, last seasons AL Cy Young winner, had allowed six total runs in his previous six starts, all wins, over 39 innings. A dropped throw by Cabrera helped Detroit break a 7-all tie in the eighth. J.D. Martinez, who hit a two-run homer in the first, had three RBIs. Victor Martinez was 3 for 6 with two RBIs, including a solo homer in the third. Chisenhall hit a solo homer for Cleveland. McAllister allowed five runs in two innings. People also get to see Brie and Is passion for wrestling. People have realised we are here for wrestling, not anything else.BRIE: When we came in, you were very much your characters on TV, but with social media and Total Divas you have understood who we really are. We are now ourselves - Vince McMahon let us wear our own clothes and have our own gimmicks and that took our careers to the next level. Vince McMahon is the chairman of WWE We saw how emotional Daniel was when he had to retire - does being General Manager of Smackdown fill the void?BRIE: I think so - he is still surrounded by wrestling and still gets to be creative. Its obviously hard that he cant get in the ring but to be around his friends and part of the business in some way helps him, even though he will tell you: Yeah - but I want to be in the ring!NIKKI: He is a good General Manager - but I have to tell him: Look at the opportunities the women on Raw are getting [such as Hell in a Cell]! Seriously, he is doing an amazing job - his presence and the way the crowd reacts to him takes our show to a whole new level. Brie is expecting her first child in the spring How proud were you of Charlotte and Sasha Banks, the first women to compete inside Hell in a Cell?BRIE: We were together watching it and on our feet the whole time. It was an incredible moment for the womens division but also Charlotte and Sasha themselves, to main event a pay-per-view that has traditionally been so dominated by men. We had goosebumps.NIKKI: I now feel no match is beyond the womens division. Hopefully now though its not about women this, women that and that people accept that mens and womens wrestling are equal. Charlotte and Sasha Banks met in the first-ever Womens Hell in a Cell Match Youve been wrestlers for a long time now - did you think youd have this longevity?NIKKI: Everyone used to tell me: Just so you know, Divas only last five years around here. I said: What, I want to be here forever! I have now been here for 10 years and been on an incredible journey - Ive seen womens wrestling and the WWE change dramatically. The place has become my home and Im looking forward to 10 more years.Which women from other sports have inspired you over the years?BRIE: Even though they have retired now [former American womens soccer players] Mia Hamm and Carla Overbeck were great influences on us. We played soccer growing up and it wasnt that big in the United States, but Mia and Carla made it something.NIKKI: Ronda Rousey is definitely one - I find everything she has done in UFC so inspirational. Serena Williams is another - she reminds me of John Cena in a way, in that they have stayed on top of their game for so long and so many people still connect with them. She still blows my mind.Do you think Ronda Rousey to WWE is a natural progression? Stephanie McMahon wants it to happen. McMahon wants Rousey in WWE Raw boss would welcome UFC star joining the company BRIE: 100 per cent! She is a fan, first off, and the movements in the ring between UFC and WWE are the same.How does football - or soccer, as you keep calling it - help you in the ring?NIKKI: It certainly helps me with my footing. When we started training with WWE, coaches were impressed and asked if we had had boxing training. I said no, it was all soccer. As a defender, I had to learn to stay on my feet, track backwards and I feel all the movement I do in the ring was helped by my soccer background.BRIE: Our coach was actually from England and he was very strict with us - teaching us discipline and drive. We have taken those into wrestling and thats what helped us excel so quickly. We knew hard work paid off. When weve worked hard, we want to work even harder.Is football getting bigger and bigger in the States all the time?NIKKI: Its so big and people dont want to feel left out. They think: Right, I need to buy a Manchester United jersey and go to a bar to watch the game. I live at the beach in California and am blown away by how many people I see walking around in soccer shirts on a Saturday.BRIE: Our brother is a die-hard fan of Arsenal. Paige, who is from Norwich, makes fun of me and says Brits dont really do that but I always go and do it. I love the little sandwiches, especially the salmon ones!BRIE: Its cucumber sandwiches for me, but I also love the way you guys do French fries. You nail it!NIKKI: As for TV, it has to be The Office - the British original, not the American version. There is definitely a different sense of humour between Brits and Americans, but Brie and I dont really laugh at the American comedies and movies.
