The contract of Winnipeg Goldeyes outfielder/infielder Ryan Scoma has been purchased by the Toronto Blue Jays. He will report to minor league spring training with Toronto next month. Scoma, 26, finished third in the American Association last season with a .341 batting average. In 81 games, he also hit four home runs, drove in 46 runs and posted a .443 on-base percentage, good for second in the league. "We are thrilled for Ryan that he is getting this opportunity with the Jays," Goldeyes manager Rick Forney said. "He did a tremendous job for us last year and we wish him the best back in affiliate baseball." Winnipeg acquired Scoma from the Rockland Boulders prior to the start of the 2013 season. He was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 36th round of the 2009 MLB amateur draft and played three seasons in their system at the Rookie and Class A levels.
